How to Assign Digital Homework to Individual Students

Step-by-Step Instructions

Log in to your account here:

Step 1

Once logged in to your account, click on Class Prep and then select My Classes from the drop-down menu.

Step 2

After landing on the My Classes page, you will see a list of your existing classes. Click the New Class button to create a new class for your individual student.

Step 3

Enter a name and optional description for your new class. Next, select a color for your class and then click the Save button.

Step 4

After saving your class, you will land on a new class page (e.g., Albus Potter). You now have the option to add your student to that class. Select the Add an Existing Student button to move the student into your class.

Step 5

A list of all your students in your account will appear for you to select and add to your class. Click the box next to the student’s name you want to have in that class (e.g., Albus Potter). Then click the Save button.

Step 6

You will now see the selected student under the class you created. Click My Classes to go back to your list of classes and see your new class.

Step 7

Your new class is now visible under My Classes (in alphabetical order). You can click on the class to make any adjustments (add/remove students or edit the class name/description/color). 

Step 8

Head to the Lessons page to select a digital lesson to assign as homework.

Step 9

Select Digital under Select Format to focus on the lesson sections that contain digital tasks and activities. Select a lesson category to view the lessons with digital tasks available for homework (e.g., Health Matters).

Step 10

After you enter a lesson category with the digital filter selected, choose Digital under Select Format once more. Select a lesson to view the digital tasks available (e.g., Chocolate).

Step 11

On the lesson show page, you will see two tab options. The Printable tab gives you the option to open that lesson as a PDF (Teacher or Student). The Digital tab allows you to assign a task as homework by selecting the Assign Task button.

Step 12

On the Assign Tasks page, you will see a list of tasks that are available to assign as homework. Click the due date box next to the task name to assign a date and time for each homework task you’d like to send to your student.

When you have finished selecting dates for the homework tasks, click one of the Save buttons — either the one above or the one below the task list.

A confirmation pop-up window will appear. After reviewing it, click Save to send the homework to your student.

A final reminder pop-up window will appear to confirm the homework has been sent to your student. Click Close.

Step 14

You will be taken back to the digital tasks page and can now view the homework due date next to each assigned task. Select the date to view your student's scores and see the number of attempts they've made.  

The status column will appear blank until your student has made an attempt.

Clicking on the task name under Launch will allow you to preview what that task looks like to your student. Selecting Start will begin the task for you as if you were a student. Clicking on the in the top left corner will bring you back to the digital tasks page.  

Selecting Task info will show you the answer key. Click the X in the top left corner to bring you back to the digital tasks page.
