How to Print Lessons: Teacher Version
On ESL Library, the majority of our ready-made lessons are available as Teacher or Student PDFs. The difference between these two versions is that the Student PDF does not include an answer key or any supplementary materials at the end of a lesson.
Teacher PDFs can be used when you need to print a copy of the lesson that includes the answer key. You can also print the Teacher PDF when a lesson includes appendices such as supplementary vocabulary or grammar lists, transcripts, activities that involve cutting up cards, etc. Materials such as these are usually located after the answer key in a lesson.
Note that you can use the Teacher PDF to print out a lesson for your students as long as you don't print out the answer key or supplementary materials (which are usually located in the final 1–5 pages of the PDF, depending on the lesson).
To open this version, click the "Teacher PDF" button from the preview page of any lesson:
You can also follow the steps below to open and print the Teacher PDF.
Log in to your ESL Library account.
Once you've logged in, head over to the Lessons page (see below).
On the Lessons page, click into any lesson section (e.g., Discussion Starters).
After landing on the lesson section page, choose any lesson you would like to view or print as a PDF (e.g., Left-Brained Vs. Right-Brained).
Once you have clicked into a lesson, you will see that there are two PDF options to choose from. If you would like an answer key included, click on the "Teacher PDF" button to open the lesson.
Once you scroll through the lesson, you will notice the final few pages are dedicated to the answer key, teachers' notes, and any other supplementary materials a lesson may contain. The answer key and other materials can range from 1–5 pages, depending on the lesson.
To print the lesson for class, select the print icon in the top right corner of the page (depending on your browser and the PDF viewer attached to your browser). You can also print by clicking File > Print or by pressing Command + P on a Mac or Control + P on a PC.
If you would like to remove the answer key and supplementary materials when printing the Teacher PDF, you can make this adjustment in your print settings. Choose the option to enter the number of pages you wish to print, with the last number being the page before the answer key begins.
